The Captain’s Challenge was held on Saturday, April 16. High winds swamped and sunk Union Maid. Ten Corinthians started the day, many withdrew.
Congratulations to Alvin Skelton who won the regatta. Thanks to Bob Goff and his crew for running the race committee. Below are the race results.
The wind was blowing 17 to 20 MPH all day and cloudy. The Maid was swamped and sunk. Thanks to Red Dog who manned the rescue boat, picked up Bill, George & Mike, and towed her back to the VIP.
The fleet helped to get the Maid raised and pumped out. Thanks to Burt Gilson and Sheila Bower for providing breakfast and lunch.
